Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls Hike

Details
Let's hike Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls! The lake itself is stunning, and it sits below Mt. Index, which towers over the lake. If it's a warm day, plan to bring along a towel, as the cool water of the lake is pretty inviting for a swim or at least dunking your feet. We'll plan on hiking to the Bridal Veil Falls viewpoint first on the side trail, then to Lake Serene. The total distance will be about 8.2 miles with 2,000' of elevation gain.
Since the first part of the hike is very moderate, the hike up and back to the waterfall and to the lake is steep with lots of stairs. The part from the lower falls to the lake has 1,300' of elevation gain in 1-1/2 miles. Where there aren't stairs, there are rocks and roots. Overall, it gets a moderate/hard difficulty rating. Please be comfortable with steep steps, rocks, and potentially slippery/difficult terrain along with elevation gain for this one.
Duration: Count on this being an all day outing, so please be flexible. The end time is an estimate, and if there's interest, we can stop at the Sultan Bakery for dinner. It would be really nice to avoid heading back north during rush hour.
Carpooling: Once we figure out who is going, we can arrange carpools.
