"Hello darkness, my old friend" said no one in the Northwest in November!!

Join us on Monday as we get out our headlamps and flashlights and tell darkness "you don't control us, we control you!" With the end of Daylight Savings Time, darkness hits at 5PM, hence we'll hit the trail at 5:00 and walk around Lake Padden on the lake trail. This is 2.6 miles with very little elevation gain and will be easy to walk in the dark with headlamps.

NOTES:

  • Make sure your headlamp/flashlight is fully charged, bring extra batteries, or bring an extra light; we'll be on the trail for 2+ hours and the whole point is to keep darkness at bay.
  • It will be chilly so bring some warm clothing. There's a slight chance of rain, also.
  • There are bathrooms along the trail (although I'm not sure if they'll be open after dark)
  • No parking pass is required
  • Dogs are welcome but must be leashed the entire way

We will be meeting at the gravel boat launch parking lot, located immediately off Samish Way at the dog park/golf course entrance. (This is outside the park gates in case they decide to lock them at dark.) Click here for a Google map.
