With sunshine in the forecast, how about a hike with lake, sound, and island views? Let's do a Whistle Lake and Sugarloaf loop hike FROM THE WHISTLE LAKE TRAIL HEAD in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands (ACFL.) For those who haven't been there, the top of Sugarloaf has a spectacular view of Puget Sound, the islands, and the Olympic Mountains. We'll also hit trails on both sides of Whistle Lake, which is quite pretty.

Total length is about 6-1/2 miles with a cumulative elevation gain of around 1,500'. Overall, it's a moderate hike, but you will get a workout with all of the ups and downs, as there are lots of them! Pace will be moderate, and we'll plan on taking photo, snack, and conversation breaks along the way.

Because of the multiple trails and intersections, the group has to stay together on this one, and we can't have people ducking out early. Please be flexible and allow ample time for the hike. The end time is an estimate. If this fills up, don't hesitate to sign up on the waitlist, as I may adjust the number of spots.

Parking/Trailhead Pass: No parking pass required for this hike.
Dogs: This is a dog-friendly event for friendly dogs, but please note that Anacortes does require leashing.

**NOTE: There is no actual street address for this one, even though there's one listed. The map pin on here accurately reflects the location. Parking lot is at the end of the drivable road, but the "road" continues on the map to the lake. There are lots of twists & turns on the way, but there are some signs directing you to the trail head. I recommend looking at a map to get a feel for the location. Allow extra time to find it if this is your first time going there. Message me if you have any questions, but keep in mind that reception is sketchy at the trail head, and I may not get last minute messages.
