Oyster Dome Hike & Trail Maintenance
Details
SWAG is partnering with Pacific Northwest Trail Association (PNTA) for our very own trail maintenance event, so please join us for a hike to Oyster Dome, followed by some work on the way back to the cars. (There might even be some treats at the end.)
We'll be starting from the Samish Overlook parking lot and hiking to Oyster Dome for snacks and a great view of the Salish Sea and San Juan Islands. Once we're rested, we'll head back and 'brush-out' the trail, cutting back all the vegetation. No digging up rocks or moving dirt this time!! This should take a couple of hours, or less if lots of people sign up. (Hint, hint!) The hike is just over 4 miles total, with about 1100 feet of elevation gain.
No experience is necessary and PNTA will provide all tools and equipment, you just have to show up and have fun.
To sign up, you must go to the PNTA volunteer site and fill out their form. When you've done that, come back here and sign up with SWAG.
NOTES:
- WA State Discovery pass is required.
