About us
🥾Welcome to Bendite Hiking Meetup Group (formerly Bendite Activities Meetup Group)! If you have a passion for hiking and exploring, we encourage you to join our group and sign up for our upcoming hikes!🥾
Our new group name, Bendite Hiking Meetup Group, reflects our favorite activity and makes it easier for folks searching for hikes to find us. We’ve always been known primarily for leading cool hikes! Going forward, most of our events will be hikes.
Whether you’ve lived in Bend for a while or you’re new to this beautiful area, join us in exploring the numerous hiking trails, parks, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and forests. We offer a variety of hikes for different experience levels. Some are dog-friendly and some will include optional post-hike gatherings at food trucks, tap houses, or cafés.
If you’re new to the area, our group is a great place to meet new people and become familiar with hikes in our region; hidden gems as well as activities that top the list of most popular hiking trails and destinations!
YOUR MEETUP PROFILE:
You must provide a current profile photo of your face and at least first name. It goes without saying we need to match your photo to your RSVP in order to monitor event attendance, get to know you, and introduce you to the group.
ATTEND AT YOUR OWN RISK:
Event organizers are unpaid volunteers. By signing up for events, you agree to assume all responsibility for your preparedness, safety, health consequences, conduct, and well-being.
RSVP POLICY:
Please respectfully update your RSVP to "Not Going" 24-48 hours prior the event, whether or not there is a Wait List. Prior to the event, you’ll get an email notification prompting you to update your RSVP if you can’t attend. Locate the event in the Meetup app or the Meetup website, click on EDIT RSVP, and change RSVP from “GOING” to "NOT GOING”. Make sure you have opted in to receive email notifications in your Meetup Profile.
NO SHOWS POLICY:
No Shows are disrespectful and they prevent members on a wait list from having the opportunity to attend an event. The Meetup Organizer reserves the right to suspend a member who is has been an event "No Show" 3+ times. Naturally, there are situations when there are good reasons to not be able to show up.
SAFETY GUIDELINES:
If road or trail conditions are not safe, events may be canceled, postponed, or rescheduled. Please make it a practice to review events updates/comments/announcements posted by the organizer prior to the event.
