50+ Activities & Friendship Meetup - NWA (Benton CO)

What we’re about

This Meetup is an ACTIVITIES GROUP for those who are 50+ living in and around NWA (Benton Co) who want to participate in various socials, sports and other recreational activities and make friends in the process.

The VISION is to provide ACTIVITIES that include opportunities for Social Interaction. Activities will incorporate the following:
SOCIALS: Going to Movies, Dances and Concerts in the Park, etc. Going on day or weekend trips to Nearby Attractions, Casinos and Music-Art-Cultural Festivals.
SPORTS: Participating in Golf and Pickleball and other recreational activities such as: Hiking, Biking, Kayaking, Fishing, etc.
SUPPERS: Going out to dinner at restaurants and and having Potlucks.
SPECIALIZED EVENTS: Meet-and-Greets for Newcomers to NWA, for Singles, for Couples and other events, yet to be determined.

The PURPOSE of the Benton Co - NWA / 50+ Friendship & Activities Meetup is to bring seniors together to socialize, to share common interests and activities, and to make new friends along the way.

The MISSION is to create a sense of community and belonging by providing various SOCIALS, SPORTS, SUPPERS AND OTHER SPECIALIZED EVENTS to participate in, with opportunities to meet others who share your interests. Depending on the activity, the social interaction may be after the activity

The SERVICE AREA INTENDED for this Meetup is Benton County, AR. (Upper NWA - Bella Vista, Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale and the surrounding areas)

NOTE: I would like to find other members to be CO-Hosts for various events that I run.

I would also like to find members that would like to host their own events and be Event-Hosts, to share whatever your passion is and for which I am not creating an event for. One example, of an event I would like someone to run, for something which I do not do is BIKING. So, if biking is your passion and you would like to have company when you ride, then let me know that you would like to create an event to organize a ride.

Also if the group is to do a Couples event, I will need a couple to step up to do a Couple's Night.

REQUIREMENTS to become a CO-Host or an EVENT Host: Let me know of your intent and interests, attend 3 events and interact with those in the group in ways that helps make our group - fun, friendly and welcoming. A key to this is, not only making it a point to not only introduce yourself to new members, but to others in the group as well. To become a CO-Host or Event Host, contact Eric Miller at any event or message Eric on the Meetup website.

NOTE: I am starting this group with no membership fee to start for the first 6 months (Until December 2023). In December 2023, there will eventually be an annual $10 membership fee (after a 60 day free trial), to cover administrative and organizational costs of Meetup.

Please remember to act responsibly, when you sign up for an event. If you have signed up for an event and know beforehand that you cannot attend, if there is a waitlist, PLEASE UNDO YOUR RSVP by changing your status to “NOT GOING,” which will open up your spot for someone else.

The Organizers of the Benton Co - NWA / 50+ Friendship and Activities Meetup are: the Miller Twins - Eric and Ryan

We moved to Bella Vista, AR from Centennial, CO in May of 2023, with our sister, Kristin.
We found out about NWA, by coming here on vacation in late 2021 and found out about the beauty of the area, as well as, all the amenities of living in Bella Vista, AR.

We are avid golfers and love the golf courses here in NWA. We kayak and fish and love that there are so many lakes and rivers nearby. We play pickleball and are amazed at the reception we have received from the pickleball community here.

We previously ran a Meetup in Denver called "Single Seniors Sports and Socials: Pickleball, Golf Etc for about 5 years, that gradually increased to over 1,500 members.

We have now created a similar Activities Meetup for all seniors (not just singles), living here in Benton County, AR. (Bella Vista, Rogers, Bentonville, Springdale and the surrounding areas)
