Lino Café

The Lino Café is a relaxed creative space for anyone who enjoys linocut and linoprinting. Come along to create, explore new ideas, work on your own linocut projects and connect with fellow linocut enthusiasts in a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.
The event is hosted by professional artist Rebeca Ventura (Arte Gorda). Support is available in English, Portuguese, Spanish and German upon request.### What is included?
The ticket price includes basic linocut materials as well as drinks such as tea and lemon water. If you need any special or specific materials for your individual project, please bring them yourself.
### First time doing linocut?
To participate in the regular Lino Café, you should feel comfortable with the basic principles of linocut and linoprinting. If you are completely new to linocut, please select the “First Timer” option when booking your ticket.
First Timers receive a closely guided introduction to the fundamentals of linocut printing, including:- What is linocut?
- Introduction to linocut materials and tools
- Negative thinking: understanding positive and negative areas
- Transferring a sketch onto the lino block
- Basic carving techniques
- Inking your lino block
- Printing, including basic alignment
All materials are included for First Timers.
Whether you are taking your first steps into linocut printing or already have experience and want a creative space to develop your own projects, the Lino Café is a place to make, experiment, learn and meet other linocut enthusiasts.### Tickets

In einer kleinen Gruppe von max. 10 TeilnehmerInnen werdet ihr individuell von einem erfahrenen
Grafiker und Zeichenlehrer betreut – oder zeichnet ungestört nach wöchentlich
wechselnden Modellen für euch selbst.Über den Kursleiter:
Thorsten Gehrmann unterstützt euch bei Sehen und Umsetzen. Er arbeitet seit mehr als zehn
Jahren an der SbKG Berlin als Lehrer für Zeichnen, Aktzeichnen und Malerei und kann aus reicher
Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit erwachsenen und jugendlichen SchülerInnen schöpfen.
Materialien:- Bringt Eure eigenen Zeichenmaterialien: Bleistifte, Spitzer, und Radiergummi.
- Papier bekommt Ihr von uns vor Ort. Aber natürlich dürft Ihr gerne Eure Skizzenbücher oder Lieblingspapiere mitbringen!

In a small group of no more than 10 participants, you receive individual guidance from an experienced graphic artist and drawing instructor—or you can work independently and without interruption, drawing from a different model each week.About the instructor:
Thorsten Gehrmann helps you develop your eye and translate what you see onto the page.
He has been teaching drawing, life drawing, and painting at the SbKG Berlin for over ten years
and draws on a wealth of experience working with both adult and teenage students.
Materials:- Please bring pencils, sharpeners, and erasers.
- Paper will be provided, but you can of course bring your own sketch book or preferred paper types.

Painting Class for Beginners (EN)
kunstraum heartspace, Danziger Straße 172, Berlin, DELearn painting! In this beginner's painting course, we approach painting from the ground up. In a small group, you will learn the fundamentals of painting with oils, acrylics, and pastels step by step. The focus is primarily on developing a keen sense of colour and the effects colours create. We will work using photographic references and still-life setups.
In each session, you will gradually learn more about:- Materials
- You will learn how to handle painting materials, clean your brushes, and keep your palette organized.
- You will receive an introduction to acrylics, oils, and pastels.
- You will understand which types of brushes are suitable for specific tasks.
