Art Career Workshop: Artist Documents & Applications

Prepare your application and learn how curators and juries make their decisions.
- Application: What does the organiser expect, and how should I present my work?
- Selection: Why was I selected or rejected? What does the jury’s decision actually mean?
Working from real programme requirements, we’ll examine:
- Portfolio selection, artwork documentation and presentation.
- Artist CVs and biographies.
- Artist statements and project proposals.
- Selection criteria, jury decisions and common application mistakes.
I’ll explain how curators and juries assess submissions, why strong artwork can still be unsuitable for a particular programme, and what a rejection can—and cannot—tell you.

Geleitet wird der Kurs von Thorsten Gehrmann, der seit mehr als zehn Jahren als Lehrer für Zeichnen, Aktzeichnen und Malerei tätig ist.

The course includes all basic materials (hoops, threads, needles), sketches to choose from, tea, and nice music. No supplies are required unless you prefer to embroider on your clothes, such as a T-shirt.
