Lino Café – a creative space for linocut, linoprinting and community
The Lino Café is a relaxed creative space for anyone who enjoys linocut and linoprinting. Come along to create, explore new ideas, work on your own linocut projects and connect with fellow linocut enthusiasts in a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.
The event is hosted by professional artist Rebeca Ventura (Arte Gorda). Support is available in English, Portuguese, Spanish and German upon request.
### What is included?
The ticket price includes basic linocut materials as well as drinks such as tea and lemon water. If you need any special or specific materials for your individual project, please bring them yourself.
### First time doing linocut?
To participate in the regular Lino Café, you should feel comfortable with the basic principles of linocut and linoprinting. If you are completely new to linocut, please select the “First Timer” option when booking your ticket.
First Timers receive a closely guided introduction to the fundamentals of linocut printing, including:
- What is linocut?
- Introduction to linocut materials and tools
- Negative thinking: understanding positive and negative areas
- Transferring a sketch onto the lino block
- Basic carving techniques
- Inking your lino block
- Printing, including basic alignment
All materials are included for First Timers.
Whether you are taking your first steps into linocut printing or already have experience and want a creative space to develop your own projects, the Lino Café is a place to make, experiment, learn and meet other linocut enthusiasts.
