Prepare your application and learn how curators and juries make their decisions.

• Application: What does the organiser expect, and how should I present my work?
• Selection: Why was I selected or rejected? What does the jury’s decision actually mean?

Working from real programme requirements, we’ll examine:

• Portfolio selection, artwork documentation and presentation.
• Artist CVs and biographies.
• Artist statements and project proposals.
• Selection criteria, jury decisions and common application mistakes.

I’ll explain how curators and juries assess submissions, why strong artwork can still be unsuitable for a particular programme, and what a rejection can—and cannot—tell you.
