Creative Entrepreneurship: Building Your Brand & Opportunities

This interactive workshop explores how creatives can turn their skills into sustainable opportunities through branding, organization, and entrepreneurship. Participants will learn foundational business strategies, workflow tools, and creative planning techniques while discussing networking, mentorship, and community resources. Using real-world examples from DJ Michelle Bee LLC and From Start to Spin, the session encourages Black and Brown creatives to approach their brands with the same structure, professionalism, and value as traditional businesses.

About the Presenter
Michelle Brown, professionally known as DJ Michelle Bee, is a DJ, teaching artist, event curator, and curriculum developer based in Connecticut. She is the creator of From Start to Spin, a customizable DJ and creative entrepreneurship curriculum, and serves as Board Treasurer for the North Hartford Cultural District. Her work centers cultural representation, mentorship, and creative empowerment through music, education, and community programming.
