About us
Group founded by the organizers Re(a)d Wedding, which is a monthly open mic on the last Monday of every month. RW also prints zines, hosts editing sessions, organizes book markets and more. All of our events are posted in this group, curated by the Kollektiv members: Brooks, Johanna & Agnesa among many other supporters. Our events welcome all languages and themes, but will not tolerate racism, Islamophobia, sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, or any such form of hate.
This group intends to bring together individuals interested in sharing their writing, hearing and supporting others' work, or just to spend a night doing something a bit different, particularly in the northern neighborhoods of Berlin in which these events happen less often. This is not a group only for Re(a)d Wedding. If you're an organizer and interested in posting events here that are happening in neighborhoods like Pankow, Mitte, Wedding or Moabit, we're all ears.
With a hug,
Brooks, Johanna & Agnesa

Read Editing: Monthly Writers Meetup for Sharing, Feedback & Co-Creating
Vagabund Brauerei Kesselhaus, Oudenarder Str. 16-20, 13347, Berlin, DE*This is a free event, but please donate through Eventbrite to support our collective if you are able!
Please join us on the 2nd Monday of every month for this event, built for all of your “in between works“ by the Read Wedding collective.
Most events for writers are focused around creation or performance. Much comes between this, yet we do not always hold each other through that phase. It is perhaps expected that all of those self-questioning, unsure, multi-path moments between lightbulb idea and snap-inducing performances are to be personal and private -- but they do not always have to be. We therefore offer you a space for everything unfinished. Needing bouncing around. Ready for a test run.
We will meet in a more traditional meetup format than our open mic -- without any set format of facilitation. We will determine the approach to each session based on who's arrived and what their goals are. You may expect some combination of solitary writing time, sharing and feedback, and guided exercises. We'd love for you to show up however you are, and with some writing materials (including your phone, if you prefer). However you arrive, so long as you are feeling curious and open, we will have something for you and your work.
See you there!
Brooks, Bubamarrë & Johanna

NOTE: Excluding select, small workshops, Read Wedding has hosted entirely free events since we started. If you have the means and would like to support us, it goes a long way. Please consider donating through Eventbrite.7 attendees
The Erotic Album: Poetry, Music & Art Book Talk
ivallan's Second-Hand & Exceptional Books, Schönleinstraße 32, 10967 Berlin, Berlin, DEPLEASE NOTE: This is an event **not in the Northern neighborhoods of Berlin** as is most often the focus of our meetup group. We commit to doing this only selectively, but wanted to share this special, free event in Kreuzberg with you.
The Erotic Album (FLORETS, 2025) is a unique photo-/poetry-book made to pair with a musical album. The multimedia collection by Berlin-based creatives Madhvi Ramani, Lutz Gallmeister and Monika Kozub will connect you to the pleasure, tenderness, and creative power of the erotic through 11 poems paired with vibrant collaged visuals.
Join the faces behind this project for a special listening session with a listening session and artist talk in the warm space of Ivallan's Books, one day after Valentine's Day. We'll explore the making of this project, the power (and accompanying stigmas) of erotic writing and how each artist was able to explore it through their own unique creative talents.
This is a free event, with the option to purchase the book exclusively stocked at ivallan's. By purchasing this book, you are supporting three individual artists as well as independent publishing, so bring your friends and spend your Sunday sundown with us!

Read Wedding: Monthly Open Mic & Writing Session
Hank Chinaski, Koloniestraße 32, 13359, Berlin, DEWhether you're poetry-curious or a seasoned performer, join us for our monthly open mic night at Hank Chinaski! This event is brought to you, for free**, by the Re(a)d VVedding Collective, who organize regular events for all phases of the writer's journey, all in the northern Kiez(es) of Berlin.
Join us for our core event which has been going on in Wedding for over three years. You are most welcome to share your work (or that of writers you admire) & meet fellow enthusiasts through this event. All written works & languages are welcome, though bigotry, racism, transphobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism (which is not Anti-Zionism), and so on are not welcome in this space.
Format - 3 sections:
- Sections 1 & 2: ≈12 performers (≈6 per section, kicking off at 19:30)
- Section 3: Around 21:30, we'll hold space for a writing session and optional sharing afterwards. This open mic is not only about already “finished“ work! For the readings, priority is first given to those who haven't read earlier in the evening & especially to first-time readers!
**Donations:
- While our open mic will always be free, we do happily accept donations via Eventbrite or at the door.
- Donations do not guarantee a reading slot, but help support us in putting in this event, others around Wedding, Pankow and Moabit, and our ongoing zine publications. We appreciate it deeply and as a small collective, will put it to good use!
RSVPs & Sign Up:
- RSVP via Meetup, Eventbrite, or just show up. Online RSVPs DO NOT save performance spots
- Sign up at the door between 19:00-19:30
- 5-minute performance slots. Please respect this limit to avoid cutting off your work
Experience the magic of live storytelling and poetry with us!
