Our Wedding Era: a performance at PRINTERHOF by Imogen Huzel and Inka Pehkonen

Join us for a special performance of the day at the fifth PRINTERHOF Zine & Bookmaking Fair. This event is donation-based, with zines for sale before and after the performance to support the artists.

Our Wedding Era is a durational collaboration between performers Imogen Huzel and Inka Pehkonen. Holding a one-arm handstand, Imogen draws Inka’s continuous movement onto a single sheet of parchment that slowly unrolls throughout the performance.

The work is shaped by mutual endurance. Accompanied by music, one body balances and draws while the other’s physical journey explores circus and emotional extremes through the slow, meditative form of butoh. The resulting scroll becomes a colourful reflection of their shared time together.

Rather than following a fixed beginning or end, audiences are invited to explore the work on their own terms—staying for its full duration or passing through the space at their own pace.

Imogen and Inka have been working together as creators and performers for over five years. They have created two touring multidisciplinary circus shows, as well as short films, a short form show, publications and other artistic experiments under their company Based On Kimberly.
