Riesling, the multifaceted queen of white grapes, is capable of producing hugely diverse and complex wines that have seduced the world's most acclaimed critics.

From the vertiginous slopes of the Mosel river to the rolling hills of Clare Valley in South Australia, Riesling offers an unrivaled array of aromas, flavours and characteristics, from crispy, vibrant bubblies with electric freshness to opulent, spicy medium dry wines exuberating exotics fruits, not to mention the luscious golden nectars of Trockenbeerenauslese.

Surprise us with a bottle of Riesling (sparkling, still, dry to sweet) from any country at the next event that reflects its terroir and bring us on an exciting sensory world tour with the queen!

The requirements for the wine are simple,
- price range of 15€ plus),
- if white or rose please bring already chilled,
and IMPORTANTLY, keep the wine covered so no-one can see it.

During our event - we share, we taste, we analyse, we discuss, we enjoy and we attempt to identify what’s in the glass.
No expertise is required - curiosity and a sense of humour is enough.

Please note the following points on how to sign up so NOT to miss out - the first to pay gets a confirmed spots.

France gave the world its first AOCs, set the gold standard for sparkling wines, invented the cru system, taught the world the notion of "terroir", not to mention perfected the technique of making delicate, aromatic rosés.

Whether it is the mythical Petrus, the invaluable Romanee Conti, or the iconic Dom Pérignon, France is the country that inspires awe and deference in the wine world.

Although innovations and improvements are made in both the new and old worlds by leaps and bounds, only the impertinent or the fearless would dare challenge the superiority of french wines.

And so we shall!

In our next event, 2 teams will blind taste French wines against other world wines in 8 categories:

Sparkling wines : 1 brut nature, 1 brut
White wines : 1 light body, 1 full body
Rosé wines : 1 rosé
Red wines : 1 light body, 1 medium body, 1 full body

Each wine will be judged against its rival in the same category and the overall scores will answer the question : To Be or Not To Be France .....

How to sign up ???
- Sign up on Meetup - then send your 25€ donation via PayPal (ck.brand@alice-dsl.net)
- Msg me on MeetUp OR WhatsApp and say which team you would like to join - "FRANCE" or "Rest of World"
- it does have to be even numbers BUT I will try to allocate you to your preferred team.

Once all signed up and paid - you will be put into contact with your team's Leader.

- if white, rose, or sparkling please bring already chilled,
and IMPORTANTLY, keep the wine covered so no-one can see it.

No expertise is required - curiosity and a sense of humour is enough.
FOR THIS BATTLE EVENT we also score each wine using a prepared criteria.
