Great Park Loop - Irvine

Details
This ride begins at the Great Park near the sports fields and makes a loop through some scenic areas of Irvine.
From Sand Canyon and the 5, head to the Great Park via Marine Way. Make the first left and then a right into Parking Lot 1. Look for the red Mini Cooper.
We’ll make our way through some new Great Park neighborhoods over to Portola Parkway, down (my favorite) Hicks Canyon Bike Trail, then onto Peters Canyon Bike Trail, the Walnut Trail and then back to the start. Just a bit over 17 miles.

**PLEASE READ**
Bring your bike with inflated tires, spare tubes and an air source, helmet, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, water/snack, and a cell phone. Your bike should have gears and should be of the “road" or “hybrid" variety. If you have an e-bike, please familiarize yourself with the rules of the area in which we are riding to see if your bike is allowed on this trail before signing up.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior so we can introduce ourselves and be ready to leave at the stated time.
NOTE: Be familiar with your bike and its controls before signing up. We ride at an average speed of 10 mph as this is the posted speed limit on many of the bike trails. On streets and on downhills, we can (and will!) go faster. While we will make every attempt to stay together, if you cannot keep at this pace, it would be a good idea to practice riding on your own a bit before joining us. That said, this is NOT a competitive riding group. We ride recreationally with the goal of getting some exercise. Hope you can join us!
