NYC School of Data 2025

Details

NYC School of Data is BetaNYC’s community conference that demystifies the policies and practices around open data, technology, and service design. And we’re back for 2025! This year, School of Data will take place on Saturday, March 29, and conclude NYC Open Data Week (March 22-30, 2025).

Sessions consist of community and government-led classroom-style discussions, trainings, and workshops. Highlighted conversations include lessons learned from NYC congestion pricing, an upcoming multimodal urban planning simulation as part of the Cityworks exhibition, a deep dive into new datasets from the NYC Council, a chance to meet the finalists from the MTA’s first ever Open Data Challenge, transparency on where our garbage goes, and the opportunity to design a blueprint for a NYC Public Interest Technology Lab!

Our program is now available at < https://nycsodata25.sched.com/ >.

To attend, you need to purchase tickets via Tito. The venue, CUNY School of Law, is accessible. This year, with support from Reinvent Albany and New York State’s ConnectAll program, we will be livestreaming the mainstage AND providing American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for all sessions delivered on the mainstage. Thank you, SignNexus, for your ASL interpretation services!

General admission AND solidarity tickets are on sale! Also, free on-site child care is available. Register via Tito at < https://ti.to/betanyc/nycsodata25 >.

We have scholarships — we always prioritize traditionally underserved and underrepresented communities. Apply by Wed, 3/26 at 5:00 PM < https://schoolofdata.nyc/2025-schedule/#scholarship >!
