What we’re about
How do you do Jewish? Are you a secular Jew who wants to share Jewish culture and identity with your family? Do you celebrate Jewish holidays and want to know more about how to celebrate them without the supernatural underpinnings?
Beth Ami provides a place where secular Jews can find a comfortable home. We appeal to those who respect and love our Jewish heritage and want to affiliate with others with similar viewpoints. We are Jews who want Jewish studies for our children and ourselves, who want to observe Jewish holidays, appreciate Jewish culture, and express a connection with the Jewish people and Israel in a non-theistic setting.
Beth Ami is a warm, welcoming community that gathers to deepen our connections to each other as well as embrace our shared Humanistic Jewish identity. We celebrate major holidays, Shabbat/Havdalah, and life cycle events, including baby namings, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings and memorial services. For more information visit bethami.com.

Learn how an ordinary man became involved in a criminal network. Familiar names from the era are part of the story. There’s the Lower East Side contingent of Meyer Lansky, Bugsy Siegel and Lucky Luciano. Goldy’s old pals, The Brownsville Boys, are in the novel, as well as the mentor to Lansky and Luciano, Arnold Rothstein, the notorious gambler who fixed the 1919 World Series.

- Shavuot Book Talk - HumanisticallySheila's House, Boulder, CO
Bring your copy of Contemporary Humanistic Judaism ed. Rabbis Chalom and Kornfeld. Let’s dig a little deeper into aspects of Humanistic Judaism and share our own ideas and values. We’ll have snacks, drinks, an outdoor patio and good company!
In North America, Shavuot is a time to celebrate educational achievement. In Israel, Shavuot became a holiday celebrated with eating dairy foods because the Bible says that Israel was a land flowing with milk and honey (and all-night Torah study).
Click the attend button so we know you are coming. Because this event is at a private residence, we will message everyone who RSVPs on Meetup the exact address a few days before the event.
