International Dinner Out with Beth Ami

It is not a holiday. It is not Shabbat. It is, however, an opportunity to get together and socialize at Beth Ami's International Dinner Out.

Are there Jews in Nepal, you ask? While there is no native Nepalese Jewish community, in 1986, the Israeli embassy in Kathmandu began a tradition of holding a Passover Seder for the thousands of Jewish visitors. It has been called the world's largest Seder! The Jerusalem-based NGO Tevel B'Tzedek sends Israeli youths to Nepalese villages to help teach efficient forms of irrigation and agriculture to outlying villages. Many Jewish individuals visit Nepal staying in Ashrams or touring sights and climbing mountains. Israelis comprise about one percent of total tourism in Nepal! Regardless of whether there are Jews in Nepal or not, let's eat some great food, drink some delicious chai and have some fun conversation together.
