Election Day can be a lot.

There are decisions that matter. Hopes and fears. Constant news. Maps and numbers. Winners and losers. And sometimes a whole lot of anxiety about what happens next.

So before we spend the evening watching results come in, we’re going to do something very simple:
Take a sacred walk together.

Join BETWEEN Colorado for a slow, spiritual, reflective Election Day walk around Colorado’s Capitol and Civic Center. We’ll walk for about an hour, stopping a few times for silence, reflection, conversation, and prayer.

This is not a rally, protest, campaign event, political debate, or election watch party. We won’t ask how you voted. Nobody will be asked to defend their politics. And the purpose isn’t to pretend our differences don’t matter.
Instead, we’ll practice something that can become especially difficult on days like this:
Remembering one another.

We’ll make room for whatever you’re carrying about our country and community. We’ll reflect on the kind of neighbors we want to be. We’ll have a few meaningful conversations with actual human beings rather than staring at maps and screens. And we’ll remind ourselves that when Election Day is over, we still have to live together.

People of every faith, no faith, and every political identity are welcome. The only expectation is that we treat one another with curiosity, dignity, and care.

We will pray (in a very inclusive way that allows you to connect with your understanding of the divine in whatever way makes sense to you).

We will talk about spirituality and beliefs and how they intersect with the way we organize our society and care for each other collectively.

Most importantly, we'll share sacred human connection together. Because no matter who wins any election, our world will only be healed one sacred conversation at a time.

MEETING PLACE: We'll gather at noon at the Colorado Veterans Monument in Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park, directly west of the Colorado State Capitol. Look for the BETWEEN sign (and Matt Mattson). We'll begin promptly at 12:05 and take an easy, approximately one-hour reflective walk through Denver's Civic Center.

Meet at the Colorado Veterans Monument—the tall red sandstone obelisk in Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park, directly across Lincoln Street from the west side of the Colorado State Capitol. Look for the BETWEEN sign.

Please arrive about 10 minutes early so we can begin together.
We’ll walk outdoors through the Capitol/Civic Center area for approximately 60–75 minutes, at an easy pace, with several stops along the way. Dress for November weather and wear comfortable shoes. We’ll stay outdoors; there is no need to enter the Capitol.

There is no general public parking at the Capitol itself, so plan on nearby metered street parking, a paid lot, rideshare, or public transportation. The Capitol is also one block southeast of Civic Center Station.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A small, intimate group.
A little walking.
A little silence.
A few questions worth thinking about.
A conversation or two with another person.
No speeches.
No political arguments.
No pressure to pray, speak, or believe anything in particular.
Just an hour to step away from the noise and practice being human together.

The election matters.
And so does who we become while caring about it.

The space between us is sacred.
