Beyond Hello World - LED Strips

Hello Makers,

We will start the meeting with a short demo and then it will be open work time. All projects are welcome including any stepper motor projects that are out there :)

This month the demo will be LED strips! These are really cool individually addressable RGB strips.

They have been around for a few years and there have been some super cool projects have been done with them:

Still it can be hard to get further than the basic demo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8YiWNrkAAI). To go beyond that we will take a look at how to use the Neopixel library (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_NeoPixel) so you can generate arbitrary patterns. We will also see how to incorporate HSV (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSL_and_HSV) color coordinates and gamma correction (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamma_correction) into code.
