• What we'll do BEYOND MINDFULNESS Former Buddhist monk and psychotherapist Stephan Pende will share from his experience of 35 years practicing in different Buddhist traditions. You will explore a wide spectrum of meditation and mindfulness practices from simple breathing meditation to the most profound practice of non-meditation. The evenings are suitable for beginners who want to start their practice with profound and easy to apply techniques and experienced mindfulness practitioners who want to deepen their practice. Finding a Place of Rest A spacious and healing meditation retreat in beautiful nature close to the sea in Helgenæs, East Jutland, Denmark. “Dwelling deep within our heart, and within the hearts of all beings without exception, is an inexhaustible source of love and wisdom. And the ultimate purpose of all spiritual practices, whether they are called Buddhist or not, is to uncover and make contact with this essentially pure nature.” – Lama Yeshe You will be introduced to simple methods to be more at ease with your feelings and disturbing thoughts. We are exploring ways to be more relaxed with the challenges of stress, fear, sadness, and insecurity. The emphasis is on how to bring that compassionate space into our daily life and our relationships. The retreat is suitable for beginners of any background who want to start their journey with profound and easy to apply techniques and experienced students who want to deepen their practice. The journey will be a balanced mixture of guided meditations, walking meditation, short lectures, discussions, silence and mindful movements. You will learn time-honored ways of experiencing and resting right now in your natural state of inner peace, the ultimate source of lasting happiness. All teachings are in English. Silence: Most of the retreat will be in silence, there will be opportunities to ask questions during the sessions. We also encourage everyone to keep their mobile phones turned off during the entire retreat. About Stephan Pende Wormland: Born 1965 in Germany, MA in clinical psychology and trained in Gestalt therapy. He has studied and practiced meditation in multiple Buddhist traditions for over 35 years and has spent all together five years in meditation retreats. Accommodation, food, costs for the organization: 3100 Dkr. for a single room, 2900 Dkr. for a double room. 2600 Dkr. for a bed in the dormitory (separate women and men). Here you need to bring your own duvet/sleeping bag and pillow. There are only 8 double rooms and 8 single rooms available, so please book early to secure your place. If the double and single rooms are filled it is possible to sleep in the dormitory. Donation to the teacher, to be paid in cash or MobilePay during the retreat: We suggest 600 Dkr. – 1200 Dkr. Please remember to write this when you register for the retreat. Meditation cushions and stools are available, bring your own if you have particular wishes about what you want to sit on. The food is vegetarian, it is not possible to accommodate special needs regarding your diet. You can bring supplements for your diet. Remember warm clothes, outdoor shoes for a walk, easy shoes to use between the main house, temple hall and the dining hall and slippers for indoor use, if you like. Arrival: It is possible to arrive at Gomde Retreat Center after 16 o’clock (4 pm) on Thursday the 19th of September, 2019. This allows time to settle in, and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surrounding before the first teaching session, which will take place after supper Thursday evening.
