What we’re about
"Bible Versions, How do they Differ?" is an online (Zoom and Facebook Live) study that will help you understand the differences between popular Bible translations. It is intended to help you choose a Bible translation that will be right for you or as a gift for someone.
The sessions use the powerful Logos Bible Software app and Zoom screen sharing to display and compare multiple translations side by side, to display results of word searches in specific translations, and to even occasionally display a passage in the original Biblical Greek or Hebrew to help in our understanding of a translation.
The next series will run for 4 consecutive Wednesday evenings at 7:00 Eastern time beginning on April 3.
The sessions will have a 3 + 1 format, meaning the first three weeks will be the "core" presentations about the differences between "word for word," "thought for thought," and paraphrase bibles like the ESV, KJV, NIV, NLT and The Message.
The fourth week will be optional for anyone who wishes to learn more about why some modern translations differ from traditional ones in how they address gender in the Bible text.
You can join the study online on Zoom by following the link listed in the event location. Or monitor the event via FB Live on the FB group page for "Bible Versions - How do they Differ?"
