BFF Cycling

Allow me to introduce myself as the new owner of the Best Friends & Fun (BFF) cycling group on the MeetUp app.  I’m an avid Road Bike cyclist who has a medical condition that requires me to stay active by getting out and do some exercise to maintain my health. I cycle at a rate of 13 – 15mph.
It is my intention to totally revamp this group so that there’s more participations amongst its membership. I’m expanding this group to include cyclists who cycle at any speed withing the following rates of speed: 10 – 12mph, 13 – 15mph, 16 – 18mph and 19 – 21mph and above.

I’m also actively seeking two volunteers within each of the Phoenix Metropolitan areas to act as leaders of events within their area. As a leader, you will be allowed to given permission to schedule cycling events within your area and will be able to post them within the BFF MeetUp page.

These cycling events are being held for individuals who reside within the greater Phoenix Metropolitan areas, to include Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Buckeye, Goodyear, Peoria and the Glendale areas.  If you do not reside within these areas, I kindly ask you to withdraw from the BFF entirely. I will invoke my Administrative powers and PERMANENTLY BLOCK any individual who in this group and does not resided within the Phoenix, AZ Metropolitan area!

I’m requesting that every member of the BFF cycling group donate $1.00 per year because it costs approximately $300.00 a year to maintain this group within the MeetUp app. Any excess funds over and above the required yearly cost will be deposited into an account within my control to help offset the next year’s cost. This yearly donation can go up or down depending upon the membership with the BFF cycling group. Thank you.

SAFETY FIRST!! Helmets are required, front and rear lights are required for night rides, and highly recommended at all times. In the summertime, it is highly advised to bring plenty of water, electrolyte replacement, cooling towels, eye protection, etc.

The organizer(s) and host(s) of these events are volunteers and not professional ride leaders. The function of the organizers/hosts is only to organize and lead the events. Each individual who signs up for and participates in an event or outing is responsible for his or her own safety and the safety of his or her guests. By signing up for and participating in this event, or any other BFF Cycling event, you are acknowledging that you are aware and have made your guests aware of the risks, dangers and hazards associated with this activity and freely accept all such risks, dangers and hazards, and fully assume responsibility for your own safety, and further agree to release and discharge the organizers of this event from and against any and all liability arising from your and your guest's participation in the group activities. You ride at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety. By RSVP'ing AND/OR showing up for a ride, you agree that BFF Cycling WILL NOT BE Held Legally Responsible for ANY Incidents or equipment damages that might occur on the Event Rides.
