It's back to the heart of the East Bay for the June edition of Ride Like a Girl, our women's ride series. And it's an Oakland two-fer: we're going to loop around Redwood Regional Park and dip into Joaquin Miller Park for some nifty singletrack before the ripping descent back to the start.

Need more convincing? Here are a couple of quotes from last month's ride on the Peninsula:
"Loved meeting everybody and sending the gnar together!"
"Loved it! Thanks to everyone in the group for a fun ride and good company."

Join ride leader Rebecca Lewington at 8:30am on Saturday, June 17th at the main Redwood Gate parking lot at 7867 Redwood Road Oakland, CA 94619. There is sometimes a $5 fee, but that’s a small price to pay for a nice, safe spot to park and somewhere scenic to hang out afterwards. We'll gather up for a quick huddle to talk about the ride at about 8:45, and roll by 9:00 am.

We'll probably split into two groups. The Teal group will cover about 14 miles with 2,000 feet of climb and is suitable for less-experienced riders. The Denim group will be a bit more challenging, cover about 18 miles with 2,800 feet of climb.

The mission of Ride Like a Girl is to have fun, learn new trails and meet other women (cis, trans and femme) who love to mountain bike. We’ll take care of you: these are no-stress rides where no one is left behind.

Please bring your mountain bike, obviously, in good working condition. (No ebikes, please. Ride Like a Girl is strictly acoustic.) Whether you’re running tubeless tires or not, please make sure you have a spare inner tube to fit your wheels, plenty of water and some food for the trail.

We usually hang out for a while after the ride, so bring along your favorite beverages and snacks if you feel like it. And a chair!

BTCEB tirelessly advocates for better bike access on trails in the East Bay and we need your support. Please consider joining today at https://btceb.org/join-us/.

If you have questions, please comment below and we’ll get right back to you.
