For this month's edition of Ride Like a Girl, BTCEB's women's ride series, we're heading to Wine Country to sample the varied and challenging delights of Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa.

Much of Skyline is a flowy joy, but you have to keep your wits about you. There's a lot going on. So please note that there are few technical sections in this park that will be too much for inexperienced riders. These bits are short, and walkable, so intermediate riders will be fine.

Join ride leader Rebecca in the golf course parking lot (proper bathrooms!) at 2295 Streblow Drive, Napa, CA 94558.
Aim to arrive at 8:30am. We'll gather up for a quick huddle to talk about the ride at about 8:45, and roll by 9:00 am.

There's a $3 day-use fee. I recommend buying your pass beforehand here: https://www.skylinepark.org/park-passes/. We do pass a machine early on the ride, but it only takes credit cards (you can't pay with a phone) so it's a bit of a pain.

Our route will cover about 17 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing, including the flowy delights of the newish Buckaroo Trail. We may run a second, shorter group if there's sufficient demand.

Afterwards, we're going to hang out at Forge Pizza, which is less than a mile from the parking lot. It has a great beer list, yummy food (not just pizza) and large, bike-friendly patio.

As always the mission of Ride Like a Girl is to have fun, learn new trails and meet other women (cis, trans and femme) who love to mountain bike. We’ll take care of you: these are stress-free rides where no one is left behind.

Please bring your mountain bike, obviously, in good working condition. (No ebikes, please. Ride Like a Girl is strictly muscle-powered.) Whether you’re running tubeless tires or not, please make sure you have a spare inner tube to fit your wheels, plenty of water and some food for the trail.

If you need a ride, or want to set up a carpool, leave a comment and we'll see what the group can come up with.

And please consider joining BTCEB. We are much more than a group that puts on rides. BTCEB tirelessly advocates for better bike access on trails in the East Bay and we need your support. Join today at https://btceb.org/join-us/.

If you have questions, ask 'em below and we’ll get right back to you.
