Greetings!
My apologies for getting this out so late.
We have a great presentation this month about Databricks Lakehouse. Justin Ball will be showing use cases for Databricks Lakehouse and how it can benefit you. All the details are listed below.
Hope to see you online!
Abstract:
This presentation introduces the Databricks Lakehouse with use cases from the Innovation group for a Midwest Electric Utility provider. Covered concepts include: Geospatial processing with H3 indexing, Unity Catalog, decoupled architectural component comparison with MPP systems, data mesh, on-demand/serverless compute, shared DE and DS workspaces, workspace isolation (ie: for Sox), and a cost/performance comparison to the previous tech stack. Additional topics include a quick overview of a data warehouse vs data lake vs data lakehouse, as well as how Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg fit in the decoupled architecture.
