Naked Mountain & Mount Weather Ride

Details

Arrive: 8:45 AM
Pedal Time: 9:00 AM (sharp)

This ride takes us up the somewhat easier side of Naked Mountain. We then go up Mount Weather, which is a challenging 4-mile climb. From there we traverse across the mountain for a few miles and descend into beautiful Bluemont to our rest stop. The ride after Bluemont is relatively flat to rolling hills.

Rest stop is at the 39 mile mark. You may want to bring a small extra bottle of water that you can put in your back pocket.

Be sure to have two full bottles of water, Gatorade, or electrolyte drink when setting out on the ride.

All persons participating in this activity accept and/or assume any and all risks of injuries (physical or otherwise) arising from and/or associated with this activity.

Helmets required.

• Bicycle Gearing - Is your bike properly geared for long and/or steep hill climbs? Do you have little knowledge about bicycle gearing? You may want to discuss your current gearing setup with your local bike shop or one of our group members. Gearing can make a significant difference when it comes to hill climbing.
