C&O Canal Ride + Riley's Lock Jams Picnic

This ride will begin at Riley's Lock. We ride the pleasantly shaded C&O Canal to Edwards Ferry and back. Meet us in the first parking lot on the left, near the porta potties you see when you arrive.

Please bear in mind that this is a ride for fatter tires. Do not bring a road bike unless you are comfortable with riding on crushed stone and occasional gravel with one.

This ride will consist of a trip down the C&O Canal towpath and will be about 13 miles in length. We will stop at Edwards Ferry, rest for a moment and then ride back to Riley's Lock.

When we return to Riley's, we may encounter a band jamming at the lock. Feel free to bring a chair and a picnic to enjoy some live music. Perhaps Jake will bring his guitar and amp and play a few songs. :)

• Rain at start cancels the ride; Wet pavement does not.
