ROUTE (40 miles, 1165 feet ascent), average speed between 16 and 18 MPH. Weather Forecast: Hot and windy, maybe too windy. Check the night before the ride to see if it has been postponed due to extreme weather.

Start/End Location: Parking Lot behind Baggins, 11015 N Oracle Rd.
The C+ ride, led by John and Karen Vanderwall, will start and end the same time/place as this ride, so if you want to ride a little slower and shorter, sign up for the C+ ride.

Arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and get ready.
Route: Approximately 60% of the route is on roads with good bike lanes/shoulders. The remaining 40% of the route is on the Santa Cruz and CDO multi-use paths.

Water/Bathroom Stops
0 Miles - Quick Trip
5 Miles - Hohokam Park
25 miles - Wade Mclean Park

After the ride, feel free to join us at the Farmer's Market in Steam Pump Ranch for post ride goodies.

Due to the wind forecast, we will be leaving right at 6am sharp. If you sign up for the ride and are running a couple of minutes late call 917-566-8364 (Bob) but no guarantee we will wait for you.

Load the route into your bicycle computer, your smart phone or print a copy of the cue sheet.

If you haven't ridden with us before, we will not have your contact information. If so, please send me your name, phone number, emergency contact, emergency contact phone number (NOT 911). The ride waiver will be filled out prior to the ride, you will just need to verify the information and sign it.

This ride is expected to end with an average speed of 16 MPH or more. If you are not comfortable or not capable of this expected pace average, please do not participate in this ride, it is not fair to the other riders. This is a full drop ride. If you start with this B group and can't keep up, then drop back to the C+ group. However, you need to do this before we get to the loop/Twin peaks turnoff because that is where the two routes diverge. For those that want to go at a faster pace, there will be at least two opportunities to go at your own pace. The first is downhill on Twin Peaks and the second is the last few miles on the CDO. Other than these dedicated ride-at-your-own pace with their regroup areas, we will all stick together. If you are in front of the ride leader in other than these areas, you are on your own ride.

If you are not a member of our cycling club, please join at Sign Up Link
and support the club so that you, as a rider, will have secondary medical insurance, the ride leaders will be covered by liability insurance, and other club costs are covered. If you want to know how your membership fees are being spent, click on this Club Benefits Link. First time riders are covered even if they have not yet become a member. After that, if a ride is full and there are GABA members on a waitlist, any non-members will be placed on the waitlist to make room for members.
