GABA OCTOBER MEETING - El Tour's History and Things to Know for 2025

EL TOUR: ITS HISTORY, FAMOUS RIDERS, AND IMPORTANT FACTS TO KNOW FOR THE 42ND ANNUAL EL TOUR ON NOVEMBER 22, 2025
Our speaker at the October GABA member meeting will be TJ Juskiewicz, executive director of Perimeter Bicycling Association of America, which hosts El Tour de Tucson.

As you may know, El Tour has been an annual event in Tucson since 1983, is attended by thousands of cyclists every year, and was recently recognized by USA TODAY as the nation's top road cycling event. The cover photo shows riders lined up at the start line at a recent El Tour.

TJ has also been the director of RAGBRAI, Bike Florida, and has been president of the national Bicycle Tour Network and the National Association of Governors’ Councils on Physical Fitness & Sports.

Member meetings are held in the H230 conference room at the Catalina United Methodist Church at 2700 E Speedway Blvd (southwest corner of Speedway and Treat). Parking is directly across from the church in their parking lot on the other side of Treat.

Please join your fellow GABA members for this interesting and important presentation, and feel free to bring guests. Non-members are welcome to attend. It is NOT NECESSARY to RSVP via Meetup. Just come to and enjoy the meeting. Signing up does help us estimate likely attendance.
