Mission/Helmet Peak loop from Green Valley C+/3/30 with re-groups

Details

This short route follows a portion of the El Tour century loop in Green Valley and Sahuarita on scenic, smooth and less travelled roads. If you haven't ridden the El Tour century before, you're in for a treat. Our route avoids the chip seal on Old Nogales and the traffic on Continental either side of 1-19.

We will meet at 6:45 AM behind the Starbucks on Nogales, roll at 7 AM, exit the south end of the parking lot, turn left on Abrego and right on Esperanza then left on Portillo and right on Continental. After a re-group at the Performing Arts Center, we will climb gradually, turning left on Duval Mine and right on Mission. We will re-group at the railroad crossing on Mission.

Once on Mission, enjoy the views and the rollers. Descend down Shootout hill. More rollers will lead to a re-group at Mission and Helmet Peak road - a good spot for a group picture. Then descend on Helmet Peak road to La Canada. Re-group at the bottom of Helmet Peak road just after we turn right at La Canada. Regroup again just after we take a left on Esperanza. Left on Abrego. Then right into the parking lot where we started.
