Ride Description:
This scenic road ride takes us from Sonoita center to Harshaw Creek in Patagonia. We will be treated to dramatic views of both the Santa Rita and Patagonia Mountains, including stunning Red Mountain. Typically traffic is very low on Sundays, which means no gravel trucks from the mine. On our return through Patagonia we will stop at Quail Covey for coffee and baked goods.
Start Time: Arrive by 7:45 AM for sign-in and route rap. Wheels rolling by 8:00 AM. sharp.
Notes:
Ride Type: Training/Re-grouping 8-10 mile intervals.
Pace: Final rolling average 15-17 mph.
Terrain: Long gradual climbs and descents, mostly at 2%. One hill is 5%.
Route Total Elevation Gain: 1660 ft.
Traffic: Country roads but with some vehicles moving at up to 55 mph.
Rules: Your GABA membership must be current. If you are not a member, please join at www.bikegaba.org. Please obey traffic laws and represent GABA well. Helmets are mandatory. No headphones. Front and rear lights are recommended. This ride is unsupported.

Additional Notes:
Bring food & fluids for 3 hours. Water is available at our coffee stop in Patagonia. Sonoita averages about ten degrees cooler than Tucson so dress accordingly.
