Two and one-half hours on Mt Lemmon Hill Climb Training D/3/18+
Details
Ride Description:
The ride will start at McDonald Park where the Mt Lemmon Hill climb will begin instead of Le Buzz. This is to help riders learn both the approach to Mt Lemmon and the ride on Mt Lemmon. It will also shave about one mile off of the normal approach to Mt Lemmon so as to allow riders to get a bit further up the mountain.
Though this is a training ride for the Mt Lemmon Hill Climb it is open to riders of all levels, however, you must be a GABA member to ride. See the link below to join GABA.
Details:
We’ll meet at McDonald Park and, as a group, ride up North Harrison Road to East Snyder Road. Taking a right at Snyder, we’ll continue to the Catalina Highway where we’ll turn left.
Once on the Catalina Highway we’ll continue up to Mile Post 0. At Mile Post 0 everyone will check the time and ride at their own pace for two hours and thirty minutes.
Turn around after two and one-half (2.5) hours and head to the regroup point which is the pullout across on your left from Mile Post 0 when you pass it going up. Once we have regrouped you are welcome to ride back to McDonald Park at your own pace.
The route map for this ride ends at Molino Basin, but you don’t have to end there if you have more time. Continue to ride for the full time. Most riders should be able to make Seven Cataracts or Middle Bear and some may make it to Windy Point or further. Find the route here.
Wheels rolling at the start time listed above. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand to sign the ride waiver.
You must be current with your GABA membership. Click here to become a member or to renew.
