This week we are riding to Nebraska, Not the state but the road.
Grant and Silverbell A Mountain, End of Nebraska 28 Miles
Starting at the Safeway corner of Silverbell and Grant ride north on Silverbell to Silverbell Tree.
Ride to bike path. Go south to Congress. Ride west on congress up to A mountain.
After A mountain ride back to bike path and keep riding south.
Get off at Irvington and ride west on Irvington, pass Mission and turn left at San Joaquin. Ride to Nebraska, Turn right and ride to the end. Nice view of the city on top of Nebraska Hill.
Return back to the start the same way we came (minus A Mountain).
I did ride this route out and these are the smoothest and safest roads I can up with.

Water and rest rooms Manzanita Park 17 miles. This is our midride break
Water and rest rooms Silverlake and bike path 22 miles (if needed).

This is a C paced no drop ride.

Always bring spare tube and a way to pump it up.

It's hot so do not hesitate to call out for extra water stops.

I will be needing someone to sweep.

To participate in this GABA group ride you MUST:

  1. Be willing to ride at a social pace (end of ride avg pace expected to be 12-14 MPH).
  2. Be willing to serve as the ride sweep for a portion of the ride.
  3. Use the phrase "walker/bike up" when overtaking someone.
  4. Use the phrase "walker/bike left" when approaching someone coming at us. This should be used when on narrow parts of multiuse paths.
  5. Stay right of the center line on multiuse paths and right of the white line while on the road except to pass.
  6. Give at least 3 feet when passing someone walking or riding in the same direction.

    The ride waiver will be filled out prior to the ride, you will just need to verify the information and sign it.
