Please Note: We are switching all ride announcements and signups to the Gatherist website (they are developing an app). I anticipate having all my ride signups migrated to the Gatherist by June 30th though announcements will continue on Meetup for a few more weeks.

Ride Description:

Most of the roads on this route should be familiar to those who ride on the Eastside, however, there are a few which are not. It is recommended you download the route beforehand.

This route does contain one long sustained climb averaging 2.5% gradient with a max gradient of 5.1% between miles 19.2 and 19.3. Its average gradient is slightly steeper than the climb up Freeman Road, but it is 1.5 miles shorter.

Ride Details:

We’ll start from Michael Perry Pack and then take Sabino Canyon to Tanque Verde. Turning right on Tanque Verde we’ll take the usual route to Woodland Road which we will follow to Bear Path Road. After crossing Tanque Verde on to Bear Canyon Road we’ll ride in the neighborhoods north of Tanque Verde Road, taking our rest break at Mile 19.6 in Agua Caliente Park, before we continue north to Snyder Road.

After turning south onto Harrison, we’ll ride down to Gunnison Drive, turn left and use it Sierra Madre and Nittany Way to take us to the Catalina Highway. Crossing the Highway onto Prince we’ll ride to Houghton, turn south and cross the Tanque Verde Wash.

We’ll turn left onto Speedway and then right onto Ridgeside Road. This will be our long climb for the day. A right turn on 22nd Street will take us to Harrison Road where we’ll turn left. We’ll follow Harrison to Stellarole. Turning right on Stellarole on the north side of the wash and ride west until you get to The Loop. Follow The Loop back to Michael Perry Park

This is a C paced ride meaning the final average should be between 12-14 MPH, though the pace during the ride may exceed that occasionally. Riders should stay within sight of the main group unless told otherwise. Ie. Riding at your own pace to a certain point
Wheels rolling at the start time listed above after a short orientation. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand to sign the ride waiver. I use a digital waiver form, so please have your smart phone ready. Let me know if you don’t have a smart phone and you can use mine or someone else’s to sign.
