Ride Description:
This is a C paced ride meaning the final average should be between 12-14 MPH, though the pace during the ride may exceed that occasionally. Riders should stay within sight of the main group.

The ride is fairly flat and is well suited for those who would like a longer ride, but not necessarily looking to do a complete Loop ride. It will also suit those looking for some base miles. It is recommended you download the route which you can find here.

Details:

Starting from Michael Perry Park we’ll ride north on The Loop crossing to Sabino Canyon. We’ll then continue to Dodge Blvd where we’ll cross over to the Prince Road extension and Prince Road.

Turning left onto the Treat Blvd Bikeway we will continue to our first break at La Madera Park. Then it’s down the Bikeway to the Aviation Highway Bikeway. Turning left we will continue down to Ritchey Blvd.

When we reach Richey Blvd, we’ll turn left (watch out for traffic at this intersection) and get on the bike path to cross the bridge over Aviation Highway. Continuing on this path we will eventually reach the James C Thomas Park bike path.

Taking a right turn there we’ll ride until we cross the bridge over the diversion channel. Immediately after crossing the bridge there is a quick u-turn which takes us back under the bridge and into the diversion channel.

While in the diversion channel we will pass under Ajo Way and I 10. shortly after we exit the channel, we will make a left turn on a bridge which will take us over the channel and into the Kino Sports Park South and back onto The Loop.

Once back on The Loop we will ride Roy Schoonover Trailhead for our second break. After the break we will ride to Rita Road, turn left and follow Rita to Nestor Drive. At Nestor we take a right turn, followed by a left on Elderberry and left onto Nexxus, stopping at the light before crossing Rita.
Immediately after crossing Rita we’ll turn right onto the Harrison Greenway Path and follow it back to Michael Perry Park via Stellarole and The Loop.

There will be a brief orientation at the time listed above followed by the ride. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign the ride waiver.
