November 12th GABA Mtg KATY TRAIL – The Perfect Bike Touring Experience
Details
Whether you are a seasoned bike tourist or you want to try touring for the first time, the Katy Trail will overwhelm your expectations.
The Katy Trail – the longest developed bicycle rail-trail route in the US – is perfect for your first, or 100th, bicycle tour. There are distances to suit every ability and wish. There are no steep uphills to wear you out. And it passes through numerous little towns that are full of history, charm, nice people, good hotels, and great food for when you want to call it a day - and also the most delicious ice cream you will ever taste.
Every town, no matter what size, has enough interesting stories to tell and places to live those stories. Or if you prefer, you can take advantage of some great side trips to explore around the state of Missouri, almost all within riding distance of the Katy Trail
Come and join your fellow GABA members to hear Barbara McCale, Joanne Gullyes, and Jorge Garza share different perspectives on how best to enjoy riding the Katy Trail.
The meeting starts at 7:00 pm on November 12, 2026. But doors will open at 6:30 so you can come early and socialize with other GABA members (and feel free to bring guests).
LOCATION: The presentation will be in the Murphey Gallery at the St Philips in the Hills Church, located at the NE corner of Campbell and River. Note that this NOT St Phillips Plaza where you park for the Loop trail. Rather it’s on the north side of River Road. There are entrances off both Campbell and River.
PARKING: Drive into the parking lot and try to park under or near the parking area that is covered with solar panels. From there, look to the west for GABA signs that will direct you to the building with the meeting room. A map showing the location of the parking lot and the meeting room is available at https://tinyurl.com/StPhillipsMap
