Get to know Helsinki from the saddle of a bicycle! Whether you are a digital nomad stopping in town for a few weeks, have recently moved to Helsinki for the time being, or are just an adventurous tourist, cycling is a great way to familiarise yourself with the city beyond the immediate centre.
We organise leisurely bike tours through different areas of Helsinki, helping you get a feel for its districts and the connective tissue between them. On these trips we may cover a lot of ground, but the focus is on exploration and riding together, not on going fast, so anyone who can stay in the saddle for a few hours is warmly welcome!

Cycling in West-Central Helsinki (Morning tour)
Kansalaistori, Alvar Aallon katu, 00100, Helsinki, FIJoin us for a relaxed, informal bike trip through the areas north of the Helsinki town center, from the greenery of Meilahti and the Central park to the trendy Kallio and the cozy wood-built houses of Käpylä!
The trip includes around 3 hours of cycling, with a lunch/coffee break at a nice local spot in the middle to keep up our strength. We will cover a lot of ground, but do so at a leisurely pace, ideal for taking in your surroundings and chatting with your fellow cyclists. The group will be guided by a local with 2 years of experience leading tours of Helsinki, and 30 years of exploring the city by bicycle, foot, and occasionally ski!
This morning version is aimed at folks working on the American office hours, but anyone is free to join in. We will take the same route again after European office hours the following Tuesday, so you can join us then if this time doesn't work for you.
We will start and end at the central library Oodi. The specifics of the route will depend on the interests and speed of all participants.
Things you will need for the tour are: a bike, water, possible snacks and weather-appropriate clothing. Light drizzle will not stop us, but with truly terrible weather we will of course try to find another time.
If you don't have a bicycle of your own to use, you can also join using a citybike (https://www.hsl.fi/en/citybikes) or rent one out. If you need help finding rentals in Helsinki, you can message the organiser! Please also make sure to have a way of locking your bike, to ensure a peaceful coffee break (citybikes come with a built-in lock). Helmets are also required by Finnish law, even though there are no penalties for not using one.
