Biking "Rails to Trails" Adventure Group

As you all know, we lost our friend Mark Neely in June. He was never a virtue signaler. He was always the real deal. So we really miss him. We chose to have a picnic near one of the trails that he loved. Today's rides and Picnic will be a celebration of his life.

From our starting point (the Schuykill River Trail Pawlings Road Trailhead) the Perkiomen, SRT and Audubon trails are easily accessible.

Lucy will lead our default ride south down the Schuylkill RiverTrail to Norristown. From there riders have the option to turn around and loop back up the SRT for a total of approximately 20 miles.

The hardier riders can come back via the Chester Valley Trail with a cross over to Valley Forge Park. This ride allows for nice views through the Park, but does include some hills.

Of course people can choose to ride up the Perky or around the Audubon loop as well. That’s why it’s a great starting point.

After the rides we'll hang out at Lucy and Wayne's house for a picnic which is close to the trailhead. Their address will be made available the day before the ride so food can be dropped off in the morning. Please put in the comments what you'll be bringing to the potluck.

Lemonade, water and ice tea will be provided. Feel free to BYOB.

Ride the Greenbelt trail in the woods as the among the beautiful fall color leaves.....

We will ride from the Fort Hunter parking lot, 5300 N. Front St, at 2pm and do the loop around Harrisburg. This is a casual ride. Do not come on this ride if you do not agree to ride at a casual pace and stay with the group. Stopping for pictures and stopping at times to make sure no one left behind.
After the ride, those who want good food, and hanging out together at the famous Front Street Diner 4003 Front Street.
Hybrid or gravel bike recommended. Like always helmets are required and carry a tube with you to fix a flat.

One of our favorite weekends! Each year on this week-end, Join your friends from the Lancaster Bicycle Club and Wilmington Club for a ride on the Cape May Ferry and bike ride to the Cape May Zoo a week end at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Friday, Oct 30-Sunday, Nov 1st.

Schedule:
-check in the motel 3pm, so be dressed and ready to ride at 3pm
-riding down the coastal highway to Indian River Outlet, 24 mile ride round trip….easy flat ride along the ocean and shoreline.

At 7pm we will meet together, suggest place for supper.
Saturday morning finish breakfast 7am, on our bike 7:15 am to ride to the Lewes-Cape May Ferry for the 8:45am ride. Cost with our bicycles $16 round trip Call to make your reservation and make sure you tell them bicycle, not automobile… 800-643-3779.
Arrive in Cape May off the Ferry and on to the paved 15 mile Middle Creek Bike Trail to the Cape May Zoo. Admission to the zoo is free. It is a surprisingly, wonderful zoo! After the zoo, we will take either the 6pm Ferry back to Lewes.
-Sunday morning check out motel but dressed, ready to ride. 9am riding the 4 trails, loop from Lewis, Gordon’s Pond, Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth, trail ride 24 miles. Trail paved, crushed gravel, hard dirt through the woods. Finish the ride and leave for home.
