Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋夜) Night Ride: Tai Wai to Tai Mei Tuk & GO Park

Meeting Point: Tai Wai MTR Station, Exit A1

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with an unforgettable night ride through the scenic countryside from Tai Wai to Tai Mei Tuk and GO Park!

Along the way, we will stop for a group dinner together in Shek Mun or Tai Po, experience the festive magic at Long Mei Beach (龍尾灘) —where beachgoers light candles in the sand, release glowing sky lanterns under the full moon (the reference photos in Album), and gather along the waterfront—take scenic breaks at Sam Mun Tsai and Tseng Tau Pier, and soak in the vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere at GO Park before cycling back to Tai Wai.

The Route:
Tai Wai MTR ➔ Shek Mun/Tai Po (Dinner) ➔ Sam Mun Tsai (三門仔) ➔ Long Mei Beach (龍尾灘) ➔ Tai Mei Tuk (大尾督) ➔ GO Park ➔ Tseng Tau Pier (井頭村碼頭) ➔ Return to Tai Wai.

**You can rent a bike at $90
(Basically, rental bikes do come with front and rear lights, but the rental front lights are usually quite weak. So, if possible, it's best to bring your own front light if you have one)

Return Transportation:
After returning your bike at 2:00 AM, overnight options include night buses N172 and N180 to Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, or overnight green minibus 63S / red minibus 47S to Mong Kok.

**Pace: **You must be able to comfortably maintain a speed of 14km/h on flat roads.
**Road Conditions: **The route consists mostly of dedicated bike tracks, along with some narrow paths and short road sections with light vehicle traffic. Good bike control and confidence riding at night are required.

Essentials & What to Bring
A helmet, cycling gloves, front bicycle lights (please bring it if you have one), and a great mood for a Mid-Autumn night ride!
