Molecular Biology of the Cell Study Group

Curious about the science behind biotech? Join a group of like-minded enthusiasts as we work through Alberts' Molecular Biology of the Cell.

Once a week for 17 weeks we will read a section of the book and meet to discuss it for two hours. By the end, you should have a firm grasp on the vocabulary and concepts of modern molecular biology. With this foundation, you’ll be able to follow lab-based classes easier and start coming up with ideas of your own!

Prerequisite / Corequisite:
Class is open to all those who are in or have had high school biology.

Required Text: You will need to get a copy of Albert's Molecular Biology of the Cell, 5th edition (Used 4th Editions are reasonably priced on Amazon, and much of the material is similar).

This week, we will be discussing the general structure of the course, and doing an overview of the content we'll cover--you won't need the textbook before this session!

Cost:
$10 per class session (weekly) for Meetup-Only Members
$5 per class session (weekly) for Lab Members.

Minimum of five participants.
