Hands-on miniprep workshop
Details
Have you ever wondered how scientists make bacteria glow, produce medicines, or help develop life-saving vaccines? The answer often lies in tiny circular DNA molecules called plasmids! In this exciting hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into the fascinating world of molecular biology and discover how Escherichia coli (E. coli) serves as a powerful tool in modern biotechnology.
This workshop is designed for everyone — whether you are completely new to laboratory work or already curious about genetics and biotechnology. Participants will gain practical experience with real molecular biology techniques, work directly with plasmids, and learn to use essential laboratory equipment commonly found in research labs.
Rather than simply reading about DNA and genetic engineering, you’ll explore these concepts firsthand through engaging practical activities. By the end of the session, you’ll understand the basics of plasmid and DNA extraction and see how these tiny molecules are transforming medicine, agriculture, and scientific innovation around the world.
So get ready to put on your lab coat and experience the real lab !
