Birding at Bluff Lake Nature Center and Beers at Second Dawn
Details
Join us for a morning at Bluff Lake Nature Center in Denver, a fantastic spot to explore a variety of habitats and enjoy some fall birding. The trails are unpaved gravel, and we’ll plan to walk about 1.5 miles at a relaxed pace. Migrants are still moving through, so we’ll have a chance to see a mix of warblers, sparrows, and other songbirds, along with resident rails, herons, and kingfishers.
We’ll meet at the Havana Pedestrian Entrance at Florence Way and Havana Street, near the west end of the lake, at 8 AM.
Please note that the Bluff Lake campus is currently under construction, so the main entrance and parking lot are closed. Parking is limited to street parking in the adjacent neighborhood west of Havana Street. Click here for more information and maps about where to park and how to find the temporary entrance.
After birding, we’ll head over to Second Dawn Brewing Co., just a short drive away, to relax in their cozy, artsy taproom. They offer award-winning craft beer, locally roasted coffee, and a menu featuring burritos, pastries, and pizza.
Come enjoy some cool-weather birding in Denver!
