Our October program, Brains and Beaks: The Magic of Ravens, features Dr. Emily Faun Cory and her remarkable avian companion, Shade the Raven. Dr. Cory will take us deep into the world of the family Corvidae, exploring the surprising intelligence, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities of these clever birds. Through her stunning photography, engaging stories, and hands-on research, Dr. Cory will reveal what makes ravens true legends of both science and folklore.
Attendees will also meet Shade, an African White-necked Raven (Corvus albicollis), whose inquisitive personality brings Dr. Cory’s work to life. Come early, grab a seat, and enjoy this spellbinding evening where science meets mystery—just in time for Halloween!
