# WOAH! Birding For The People?!
Did our beloved Portland Bird Watching Meetup Group get a name change?
It sure did — and so much more!
Borrow a pair of our binoculars and come birding with Seymore Gulls! We'll tell you all about our new non-profit Birding for the People as we look for Pelicans, Osprey, Egrets, Ducks, and hopefully some migrating fall warblers! Along the way I'll point out bird calls, share ID tips, and answer any questions you have about birds, birding or photography.
This walk is beginner friendly but we are happy to have all levels of bird enthusiasts! Want to focus on birding by ear, bird photography, or just enjoy the morning? Let us know.
In about 3 hours we should see about 30 species of birds!
### Event Details
- Who’s invited? Everyone! All ages, backgrounds, and birding abilities. If you’ve ever noticed a bird in your life, you’re ready to come bird with us.
- Dress code: Wear layers. It might start cool, it might warm up. (I’m not a meteorologist.) Bring water.
- Optics: Bring binoculars if you have them. If you don't we have several pairs to share! We even have todder binoculars to borrow!
- Walking and trail conditions - Flat/easy/short - its about 1.5 miles out and back. there are benches. It's mostly paved and flat.
- Cost: Free! We’re working on setting up banking for our new nonprofit, so for now there's no suggested donation.
