Lookin' For Moths w/ Seymore Gulls
Details
Oh what a special buggy evening! Join SG and renowned moth enthusiast Brodie Cass Talbott as we set up some moth sheet stations and see who turns up.
Its probably going to be bugs! We might also hear a bird? who knows!
Its spring and the night creatures are on the move. So bring a headlamp, install iNaturalist on your phone, and come help us catalog (photograph) the nocturnal critters of Wildwood Trail / Balch Creek / Forest Park.
This is an outdoor community meetup taking place after dark.
Conditions may include uneven ground, low visibility, insects, mud, or slippery surfaces depending on weather. Please use your best judgment, stay within your comfort level, and help us keep the group together. We recommend wearing long sleeves, sturdy shoes with good traction, and bringing a flashlight or headlamp for navigating in low light.
Since many insects will be attracted to our lights, much of the observing will happen from a few different areas lit with black lights. Limited walking required. Feel free to bring a chair, warm or cool beverage and a snack to share (with me or bugs).
A restroom will be available nearby during the event.
