Join Lauren & Mel for a fun late fall morning of "Birding and Burritos" at Koll Business Center Wetlands in Beaverton! Tucked between office buildings and surrounding development, this small wetland complex features open ponds, reed beds, grassy edges, and bordering trees that provide surprisingly productive habitat for a wide variety of birds.

By early November, the wetlands have largely transitioned into their winter bird community. Ducks and other waterfowl become a major focus as numbers build on the ponds, while sparrows, kinglets, chickadees, woodpeckers, and other resident and wintering songbirds move through the surrounding vegetation. Herons, raptors, and occasional less common waterbirds can also turn up here during the colder months, making this compact urban wetland an especially interesting place to bird in late fall.

After the walk, we’ll head across the street to:
Muchas Gracias (8430 SW Nimbus Ave #400, Beaverton, OR 97008)
for breakfast burritos or other delicious Mexican food.

This beginner-friendly event will move at an easy pace with frequent stops to observe birds, practice identification, and enjoy a relaxed morning with the community both on and off the trail.
