Sutton Park comprises 2,400 acres (970ha) of wild and wooded countryside of moorland, meadows, lakes and groves and is one of the largest urban parks in the country. The park has open heathland, woodlands, seven pools, wetlands, marshes each with its own rich variety of plants and wildlife. Cattle and ponies graze on the land.
This is approximately a 8 mile walk taking in the scenery and 7 pools, Keepers Pool, Blackroot Pool, Little Bracebridge, Bracebridge, Longmoor Pool, Powells and Wyndley Pool.
We will stop at Bracebridge for tea/coffee for a 30 minute break.
Wear waterproof boots and suitable clothing as some areas can be muddy and waterlogged.
Meet outside the visitors centre at Town Gate, B74 2YT where there is ample parking.
