Thursday Evening is comedy night with a range of comedians.
Born from the immortal line “I could run a better beer festival than this!” (uttered after a disappointing visit to another festival), Shirley Beer & Cider Festival has grown over the years from a handful of casks racked inside the rugby club to the annual fixture that it is today.
The festival is organised by volunteers from the four charitable organisations of Round Table, Ladies Circle, 41 Club, and Tangent, and all of our profits go to help worthwhile causes in the local community.
There are usually around 100 or so beers, a wide range of ciders and food vendors including Indian,Greek, Pizza and a barbecue! The venue consists of both indoor and outdoor spaces in anticipation of all weathers with all besrs indoors.
I will be there from around 6pm. Tickets available in advance or on the door,this includes admission, commemorative glass, a programme and those all important beer tokens. The venue is well served by the 6 bus from town.
