19:30-20:30 - How Many Private Keys Can We Compute in the Bitcoin Blockchain? (Nicolas T. Courtois)
20:30-21:30 - Free discussion

In this talk, we are going to explain several methods which alllow to recover bitcoin private keys efficiently. We will recall three main classical vulnerabilities: bad randoms, weak passwords and HD Wallets. More importantly, we will also look beyond and outline some more advanced attacks.

We are going to show how recovery of some keys leads to recovery of other keys through study of connections in a certain graph we will define, and show some visualizations of this graph. We will also explain why HD wallets and BIP032 are a quite poor and fragile security standard, and we will discuss some mitigation points.

The talk will be given in English.

We would like to start the lecture at 19:30 sharp, so please make an effort to arrive on time, taking traffic into account. From 19:00 you'll have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and socialize.
