Hands-on Nostr Workshop Sactown Bitcoiners

Hosted by Shawn this month! Bring your phone, laptop, tablet, (desktop? Sure!) and together we will all join the permissionless, decentralized, censorship-resistant communications network known as Nostr. Bitcoin is freedom money and Nostr is freedom messaging.

In this meeting you will:
• Create your account(s) and (safely) store your keys. (Not your keys, not your comms!)
• Introduce yourself to the Nostr community and follow prominent accounts and each other.
• Send and receive Zaps (micro-transactions over lightning)
• Join in on the “other stuff”, bringing your identity and social graph with you, which is the true power of Nostr.

We will also spend the last 15-30 minutes socializing and exchanging goods for sats. Get used to using your lightning wallets with friends! Please bring anything you'd like to sell - doesn't have to be anything specific. In the past, we have had handmade jewelry, honey, books, vegetables, grass-fed beef - anything works!
